AN impromptu tea party was laid on for Jenny Cridland when she reached a milestone of 20 years regular volunteering in the Minehead Red Cross shop.

Shop manager Kaye Peach said that volunteers are the lifeblood of the British Red Cross.

“They save and change lives, raise vital funds and help to run our shops. Without them we simply would not be able to deliver our services, which help more than a million people in our local communities each year.”

Jenny was presented with flowers, certificate and a badge by Somerset Red Cross president Chris Davis and area field manager Gaynor Ravelin.

Gaynor said: “Jenny was looking for a way to help people in the community and to still be volunteering 20 years later is a wonderful achievement.

“Her contribution to the shop in Minehead and the community which she serves is invaluable and much appreciated.”
