MIDWIVES at Musgrove Park Hospital are encouraging people to share photos and stories of their babies born at the hospital as part of a new campaign.

The #MusgroveBabies campaign is being run by the hospital’s official charity, Love Musgrove.

Over 175 midwives support Musgrove’s maternity unit and look after 3,300 babies born every year.

Head of midwifery Sallyann King said: “We are very proud of our maternity services so we’re launching this campaign to find out what impact #MusgroveBabies are having across Taunton, Somerset and beyond.”

She asked that people who were born at Musgrove or had a child there to send in their photos and to encourage friends or family to do the same.

Sallyann said the hospital also wanted to hear people’s stories of the maternity unit and their experiences of its midwives.

“We want to know if a midwife has gone above and beyond to help with a Musgrove birth or about babies born on a significant day, like one of the Queen’s Jubilees or Christmas Day.

“Or maybe a set of twins was born either side of the New Year, making one a year younger than the other, or multiple generations of a family have been born here.”

Pictures and stories can be posted on social media using the hashtag #MusgroveBabies or sent to: Fundraising Office, Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, TA1 5DA.

The baby’s first name, year of birth and the sender’s address must be included. By sending us pictures, informed consent is being given for them to be shared or displayed as a collage in the hospital concourse area, but anyone who does not wish their photos to be shared on the hospital’s social media should say so.
