A WATCHET schoolboy footballer has officially signed with League One side Bristol Rovers – the start of a dream which he hopes could one day end at Anfield, playing for Liverpool.
Fifteen-year-old midfielder Mason Raymond has signed a youth contract with the Rovers’ academy and is now concentrating on gaining a full scholarship with the club – and also completing his GCSEs at West Somerset College.
Mason was scouted from FC Bridgwater in the Junior Premier League in just his second season at the club. He also plays for Bridgwater Wolves, Taunton and District Schools Under 15 and 16 teams and the Somerset county side.
He is the current Taunton Schools FA player of the year and has just helped Bridgwater Wolves to a league and cup double.
