MINEHEAD’S “battle of the brands” could escalate even further on March 26 when the two sides in the current logo war meet at a presentation for community groups to discuss future developments in the town.

Minehead Community Group, who are marketing their own “Simply Moor to Sea” logo, have applied to attend the event being organised by Minehead Coastal Communities Team, backers of the rival “Minehead Bay” promotion campaign.

“There are serious questions we want to ask MCCT,” said community group founder Beresford Mandley.

“We have always been prepared to work with them on marketing schemes for Minehead and they have slammed the door in our face.”

MCCT has invited representatives of community and social groups to a presentation on at 6pm Monday March 26 at the Beach Hotel to highlight its Enterprising Minehead project and discuss future enhancements at the eastern end of Minehead promenade.
