SIR — I write in response to recent letters in the press regarding Dunster Castle and its visitors.
As one of the many volunteers who help to make the castle an enjoyable and interesting experience, I feel it is time to express our views.
We are all proud of the work we do and we have never ever discouraged our visitors from spending time in Dunster's charming village.
In fact I have frequently expressed the view that a visit to the castle would not be complete without taking in the village as well, and we all recommend places for a cream tea or some lunch as well as referring to the many facilities on offer there.
Please do not include the volunteers in your attitude of the castle keeping visitors to itself because this is entirely wrong and indeed many of us are most upset at the suggestion.
