SIR — I am utterly appalled to find that the No. 14 bus along the A39 between Bridgwater and Minehead, without any consultation, has been cancelled completely. I am a non-driver and, although I don't use the bus every day or even every week, I do need to use it from time to time. Surely I am not the only person who lives along this route to have been affected? There are many people, I know, who need to shop, go to the doctors surgery or even the hospital who rely on the bus service. What if people are without a car to get to work - how do they manage? There is still a Webber bus that runs along the A39 but officially, that does not stop between Nether Stowey and Watchet. What is Somerset coming to? Why do I pay Council Tax? The Government gives a grant for these services - what has been done with the money? In this time of electioneering, this is surely one of Somerset County Council's most ill conceived moves. I am at a loss to say anything more without being very rude but please, particularly West Somerset Council, take this matter up as a most urgent and important issue. I wait to hear. Susan Ayshford, Holford.
