SIR — I was disappointed to learn that Acorns nursery at West Somerset College is set to close at the end of March.
It has been apparent since the beginning of Bridgwater College Trust’s involvement that they saw no ‘value’ in the facility.
To hear now that is not financially viable is a major blow for the very youngest in West Somerset.
Whilst I appreciate that funding within childcare and education is a complex issue, I find it astounding that such a successful and well-run nursery is not seen as a valuable asset for the community.

My thoughts are also with Mrs Lindley and her dedicated practitioners who will shortly be out of a job.
