A MINEHEAD businessman is hoping to secure the long-term future of toilets on Minehead seafront.
Marcus Kravis, who has kept the Carousel toilets open through the summer at his own expense, was this week given the go-ahead to keep than open for a further month until the end of October.
West Somerset Council originally gave him a licence to operate them until the end of this month but has now agreed to his request for an extension.
And he told the Free Press he was now planning to speak to them about continuing on a long-term basis.

“All of us at The Arkade welcome this decision and think the operation of the toilets this summer has been a success for all concerned,” he said.
“I think the prospect of losing them permanently would horrify most traders and visitors in the town, and I would like to try and help solve the problem.
“I’m conscious there is no budget for the council to opperate toilets anymore, so it would be nice if we can find a solution for the long-term.”
