The 75th Hawkridge Revel and Gymkhana – which would have been held last year – took place on a dull, chilly day.
But there was a record crowd, a few competitors and several families who have supported Hawkridge over the years who joined the celebrations.
The day began with showing classes, champion of which was Carol Luxton, on Graylands Blue Captain; reserve was Archie Andrews, on Breison Markover.
The fancy dress was well supported, as were the foot events, and the dog show had a huge entry. The champion was Hannah Hawkins with Inca; reserve was Simon Everdell with Bilbo.
A stag’s antler competition was also was very popular. During the afternoon, the Devon and Somerset Staghounds paraded, by permission of the masters.
Many sideshows and refreshments added to the enjoyment of the day.
The committee would like to thank everyone for their help and support, the judges, stewards, sponsors, those who ran stalls and sideshows, and the Pugsley family for the use of the field.
