PUMPKINS brought Hallowe’en into Kilve Village Hall on Saturday (October 31) casting a suitably spooky glow – over a coffee morning.
Over 50 local adults, teenagers and children took part in Kilve’s Pumpkin Carving and Pie Competition during the monthly coffee morning.
The village voted and the winners of the best carved pumpkin were Barry Whitehead with his ‘scary face’ pumpkin, Izzy Gorman (teen category) with her stylish cat pumpkin and Sophie Pugh (child category) with her pink painted Cinderella coach pumpkin.
The pumpkin pie competition winner was Margaret Morse with Pat Woolley a close second.
The pies were judged by Village Agent Yvonne Bullman and Chris Hayes of The Plough Inn, Holford, who said that it was a very close fought competition.
The organisers wish to thank The Plough Inn and Doniford Farm Shop and Café, who kindly donated prizes, and the people of Kilve and Holford who supported the event and helped to raise £100 towards Kilve Village Hall repairs.
