A TABLE top sale is being held in Kilve Village Hall on Saturday – to try to make up for damage caused by an attempted break-in.
The would-be thieves did not manage to enter the hall – and they would have found nothing worth stealing as no cash or anything of value is kept on the premises.
But they did try to force the lock and they cut an exterior light cable.
Chairman Stacey Shaw said: “These have proved expensive to replace and, as a registered charity, we have to find funds for the repairs.”
It is hoped that some of the cost will be met by Saturday’s sale, from 10am until 1pm. Stallholders do not need to book but should arrive by 9.45am. There is a fee of £10 per table, but they will be given free tea and bacon rolls will be available to purchase.
