WATCHET youngster Katie Champion has come up with a winning design for a new initiative focusing on 'joined up' maths. And it will now be used as the logo on all promotional material for the scheme, which is aimed at closer working in maths between Danesfield Community Middle School in Williton and its feeder first schools of St Peter's Knights Templar, Stogumber, Crowcombe and Old Cleeve. Katie, pictured, a year six pupil at Danesfield, won a competition held within the cluster of schools. Her design features the names of each school, together with numbers and mathematical signs. A spokesman for the West Somerset Initiative, which is co-ordinating the maths project, said Katie's logo would feature on headed paper and all promotional material. Photo: Steve Guscott
