SIR — I feel I must write and support James Carter’s letter (Free Press November 4) regarding the lady complaining that she had received a ticket for parking on double yellow lines.
The traffic warden was doing the job he is paid for. What if the lady had needed an emergency vehicle to attend her and someone else had parked, blocking the way?
I have for some time been trying to get someone to put yellow lines at the junction of Warden Road and Alexander Road – selfish, bone idle idiots park right on the junction in both roads, so if one is trying to pull out from the bottom of Warden Road, turning right or left, they have to pull almost onto the wrong side of Alexander Road to see if its clear.
A car driving at speed nearly took the front end off my car, and this has happened before.
