SIR — I write to support the proposal to create a cycle path from Minehead to Blue Anchor.
I am a cycle tourist who enjoys the lanes of West Somerset, but the A39 is now so busy it creates problems for cyclists and motorists alike.
To see families with young children riding together brings a smile to my face. The paths do not attract fast moving sportive cyclists but a more sedate type of rider.

It could attract more tourists to the ample facilities of Minehead, Blue Anchor and Watchet, and extend the season for some visitors to the advantage of local businesses.
I hope that objections can be sensibly overcome to encourage families and young riders to enjoy a wonderful pastime.
