SIR — There is an old song entitled "How long has this been goin' on". How long indeed!
Your front page report last week of the industrial tribunal, and page 3 revelations (oh for a simple nude), make one wonder if this is quaint old Somerset or some corrupt metropolis.
In my last letter to you, I compared the situation to Dodge City. May I amend that to a very complicated Agatha Christie story who done what, and why? It must have been a nightmare for your reporter. Has he been offered counselling?
Since writing to you last, I have received some criticism, but surely one would be justified in seeking an inquiry. But course, we're having one. Will this tribunal clear up the whole maze, or do we need something more radical and with more teeth?
Let us hope and trust, or even pray, that our next chief executive may be given strength and backing in order to root out the dealings we have read about, not forgetting the things that may still be lying under the carpet.
That is, of course, if he still wants to come!
