SIR — We all know and have experienced the limited parking in Minehead and particularly on farmers' market day. 

We are also aware of the controversy regarding the extra taxi ranks that have been made in the town. 

Well last week I was looking for a parking space and was furious to see that the taxi rank opposite the hospital was empty but a taxi was parked in the layby outside Boots Chemist shop. 

Is this a taxi takeover? 

Perhaps the council should consider banning taxis from other parking spaces other than taxi ranks.
