A suggestion to paint 30mph road markings along part of Lysander Road, Yeovil, has been put forward.

The suggestion is the brainchild of town councillor Roy Margetts, who wants the markings to feature on the stretch between the police station roundabout to the Safeway crossroads.

Mr Margetts said that reports of vehicles travelling at excessive speed indicated a need for the speed markings to make motorists aware of the speed limit.

Members of the council's buildings and civic matters committee agreed and it was resolved to approach the county council.
