Re the letter from Jim Sokol (Free Press December 14), at long last here is someone who appears to know what they are talking about. I agree with every word of his.
I would like to add that the Remoaners kept saying we should have a people’s vote because we, the leavers, did not know what we were voting for. To me it made no difference when the reasons to leave were splashed all over the news,
My family and friends and I voted to just be free of the EU, and most other people I know felt the same - we were just sick and tired of its rules.
We do not need another vote, the EU will not agree to anything we suggest because it does not want other countries to follow suit and we all know there are quite a few of them.

Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to 27 Somerset establishmentsThen you have the teenagers who say “it’s unfair what old people are doing to our future”. What they have to remember is that we (especially the old) were taken into the EU without any vote at all - all we voted for was the Common Market which made sense at the time.
So we were lied to by the Government of the day, hence the desire to escape now.
On the BBC news, I watched a documentary about teenagers in order to understand them better.
They interviewed a 17-year-old female who said we should have another vote because the people in 2016 weren’t old enough to vote, so we need another vote to make it democratic, or words to that effect.
I was so angry, it pointed out just how selfish some of them are. I rest my case.
