THE show did go on for villagers in Exford and Simonsbath despite the Exmoor weather as hundreds of people attended the annual flower and produce show.

Exford’s village green was filled with marquees of displays of locally grown produce and local crafts, while younger residents threw themselves into their creative entries.

The show was opened by Exford’s rector, the Rev David Weir, who gave an upbeat speech and expressed his delight that he could now enter his ‘interesting abstract art’.

The crowds were entertained with the many stalls and entertainment throughout the day.

Local resident Ricky Atkins won the Men Only entry with his cake for the King’s Coronation, which also led him to win the overall Best in Show Cup which was in memory of his dad Terry Atkins.

The day did not end just with the afternoon show, as in the evening the village rocked to a live band, Turnette Doone.
