SIR — As Dutch holidaymakers who have been coming to Exmoor for more than 30 years and love it, we would like to say something about our experiences through the years in Exmoor. We regret that so many of our fellow countrymen are not coming any more to England because of the high prices. We would like to encourage them to go back to England, particularly lovely Exmoor! We have seen through the years the change - little village shops, such as in Brendon have disappeared. The small post offices are gone. Not a real problem for us tourists, but certainly for the locals. On the other hand, we found in Brendon a new small garage which offers first class service, also to stranded tourists, Leeford Engineering. A daring initiative that needs to be followed! We have been having self-catering accomodation and have always been lucky, with the help of a local friend, to find beautiful places for a reasonable price. It would be a pleasure for us to find here people who would like to spend their holidays in Exmoor, but because of the often extravagant rent of holiday cottages, stay away. If anyone can offer reasonably priced holiday accomodation, we would like to help you in finding people who might be interested. You can send your brochure to us with prices not exceeding £250 in the early season, we will try to mediate free of charge. Albert Postma, Martinusweg 25, 7391 AC Twello, Holland.
