DEVELOPER Summerfield Homes, which is building 250 new homes at Liddymore Park, Watchet, has given £500 to Danesfield School, Williton, to help its 350 pupils make the most of their outdoor gym in wet weather.

The money will go toward new matting around the outdoor equipment, making it easier to use in the poor weather.

The equipment was opened two years ago by then-captain of Somerset County Cricket Club Tom Abell.

Headteacher David McGrath said: “The school is grateful for the money toward the matting which will be installed by caretaker Ray Griffiths and make use of the gym more appealing in periods of bad weather.

“I am pleased Summerfield Homes are keen to support the communities in which they are building new homes.”

Summerfield divisional sales and marketing director Philip Morgan said: “It was a pleasure to visit the school which has been part of the Williton, Watchet, and Washford communities for generations.”
