OWNERS of a fleet of 21 Tesla electric cars, some from as far away as Scotland, have visited Hinkley Point for a briefing on innovation and sustainability and a run-down on the latest EDF low-carbon transport developments.

The visit was organised by Hinkley Point B visitor centre team and engineer Paul Tucker who works at EDF Energy’s Generation HQ in Gloucester and is a member of the UK Tesla Owners ’ Club.

A total of 37 club members were met by Hinkley Point B’s station director, Peter Evans, the site’s sustainability co-ordinator Gabriel Carrillo-Ureta, and members of the station sustainability team.

The group saw the station’s sustainability initiatives and visited the Hinkley C construction site.

?Gabriel said: “There was much interest in the Tesla cars and it was quite a spectacle seeing them all together in the station car park.?

"The day was really useful and, as well as showing them the site, we took the time to discuss sustainability innovations within EDF Energy and what else is needed to move the country and the world towards a zero emission future.”
