A SERIES of free workshops for people caring for a family member or friend with dementia is being held in Williton in the new year.

The Carer Information and Support Programme (CrISP) is run by Alzheimer's Society staff and volunteers for a group of up to 12 people.

It provides an opportunity to talk, in a friendly and confidential environment, about experiences and impact of dementia.

The free workshops aim to provide with information and support and topics will include:

l What is dementia?

l How to support and care for someone with dementia.

l Support services available.

l Planning for the future.

The workshops will take place every week from Wednesday 15th January 15 until Wednesday February 12 from 10.30am to 1pm.

All five sessions will be held at Williton Parish Council. Refreshments are provided and a light lunch is available at the end of each session.
