The West Somerset Heart Support Group was formed in 1996 to help, with the aid of some splendid nurses, people with cardiac problems through rehabilitation exercises and to offer support through meeting others with similar problems and exchange of experiences, which always helps in recovery.

The group meets once a month throughout the year in a social atmosphere with guest speakers and various activities.

That is the good side of the group – but membership is dropping, due to natural causes, and new members re not coming forward even though there has been publicity in every surgery in the local area.

Without new members, the group is becoming non-viable, and so an Extraordinary General Meeting has been called for Thursday June 1 at 2.15pm at the Catholic Church Hall in Townsend Road, Minehead.

There will only one item on the agenda – to continue or close.

If you want the group to continue, please attend and show your support as new members will be needed on the committee.

If you want the group to continue, please attend as no appearance will be taken as a vote to close the group down.
