SIR — I must take issue with Shirley Harrington's total misinterpretation of my previous letter with regard to St Decuman's churchyard (Your Letters August 28).
At no point did I apportion blame on Mr Eslick's work, on the contrary, I said that the work was too much for one person.
I am not wrong about the state of the cemetery, nor am I the only person to comment on this.
I regularly tend my baby son's grave and I have to cut back the grass on every visit, and if the cuttings disperse why do I regularly collect large bundles of it?
How anyone can say it is or has been in a "well ordered state" is beyond me. This is simply not true.
Despite Mr Eslick's best efforts, he could not cope alone.
Now, in common with other relatives, I have to strim the grass around the gravesite until this matter is addressed.
I have contacted Williton Parish Council about this matter and await their response.
G Deadman,
Williton.
