SIR — It is absolutely essential that an impact study be authorised to determine our parking needs before any decision is made to sell any more car parks in Minehead. At a council meeting this week it became clear that a decision to sell Vulcan Road must be considered within four weeks. At another meeting two weeks earlier, it was decided by all concerned, including the council, that the re-introduction of on-road traffic wardens as part of the impact study must be implemented before any car parks are sold. Has anything been done? No. Is this council listening? Does public consultation mean - even if every contributor including the council nods their head in agreement - the consultation has been completed, now the council can carry on in the opposite direction? The residents of West Somerset are ready. Don't think you can just walk over us. Graham Sizer, Chairman, DIRECT.
