FORMER student Hannah Cullingford hopes to be in line for some monkey business if her plans to take part in a charity run this autumn come to fruition. Hannah, who lives in Roadwater, has helped raise the profile of a number of animal and conservation charities in the past and five years ago took part in an expedition to the Philippines to help save the rain forests. Now the 23-year-old, who has just finished an access course in art design and carpentry and joinery, is hoping to spend part of her gap year raising awareness of more conservation issues. And to start the ball rolling she wants to take part in the Great Gorilla Run in London at the end of September, an event aimed at boosting the funds of a charity started by Diane Fossey whose work was celebrated in the film Gorillas in the Mist. If she can raise the £100 needed to enter the event and buy her outfit, Hannah will be hoping to win sponsorship from businesses and individuals across West Somerset to complete the four-mile jaunt dressed, of course, as a gorilla. "Once I've got the £100 under my belt, the sky's the limit," she said. "The run should be a lot of fun but at the same time will be raising money for a very important cause, which is helping the plight of gorillas in the Congo and other areas." Anyone wanting to sponsor Hannah can contact her on 01984 640252.
