CLASSICAL guitarist Keith Hyett will be giving a concert in Crowcombe Village Hall on Friday evening (June 1) as part of his South West tour.

Keith will be playing tunes from his new collection ’Memories of You’, as well as pieces from his four previous collections.

He likes drawing from the surrounding landscape to write his music. One of his pieces, although having a flamenco feel, is very much inspired by a view from a tower on the Cotswold edge.

’The Mill’ tells the story of the water going through a mill, as it starts in the collecting pool and then goes through a channel which leads it to the wheel and finally flows out into the stream.

Another big influence on Keith is poetry. The works of Thomas Hardy and other English poets have given inspiration for rhythm and melody. The first piece he composed in this way is called ’Timing Her’, which has a call and answer feel to it.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £7 on the door or in advance from www.ents24.com.
