ST Margaret’s Hospice is inviting supporters to put a spring in their step by taking part in the season’s first Great Somerset Walk.

The 13km walk around Wimbleball Lake on Sunday March 20 at 11am, is a new venue and aims to raise funds for the hospice, which costs £10 million a year to run.

A hospice spokesman said: “There’s a wealth of wildlife to watch on the path which follows the shorelines of the lake, meanders through woodland and emerges into open moorland.

“So whether people are looking for a leisurely spring stroll, a picnic with the family or a fast-paced challenge, the walk will have something for everyone.”

For those walking in memory of a loved one, ribbons will be available on which to write remembrance messages. These can be carried on the walk and hung on a display board at the Taunton hospice.

Adult tickets for the walk are £10, children aged five to 16 £5, family tickets (two adults, two children) £25 and under fives enter free. T-shirts are available for £5 either online or on the day.
