SIR — I am delighted to note the skylarks on Dunster Marsh have bred successfully this year.
Skylarks continue to decline across the country, so it really is reason for celebration that our local birds are doing well.
Well done to the Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club which has put in place measures to protect skylarks on the golf course, and Marsh Farm, which has left some areas of pasture uncut for the skylarks to continue breeding.
These measures are clearly starting to make a difference.
