PEOPLE who care about the environment will be rolling up their sleeves for an autumn beach clean being organised by Plastic Free Minehead (PFM) on Saturday.

It is part of Surfers Against Sewage’s (SAS) national drive which will see over 500 beaches around the UK cleaned by volunteers over the next couple of weeks.

One of the criteria for gaining Plastic Free Community status for Minehead is for there to be regular, community beach cleans in the town, so this will be one of them.

It is taking place from 2pm to 4pm, starting from outside Channel Adventure on the seafront. Everyone is welcome, for the full two hours or just a few minutes.

PFM will provide bags, gloves, litter pickers etc but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own if they have them.
