Alderwoman honour for Christine Lawrence after three decades of public serviceThe grant will enable the pair to attend an England Boxing Level 1 coaching course over two weekends in London.
It will also help the club to grow through a greater number of training sessions and provide Boxercise fitness sessions for other clubs and schools in and around the Minehead area.
The cheque was presented by Heather Pring, who set up the fund to support local sports clubs or individuals with sporting aspirations, in memory of her 21-year-old son, who played for Minehead Barbarians Rugby Club.
The boxing club (MABC) is run by husband and wife team Paul Pearce, who works for St John Ambulance, and Charlotte Beynon-Pearce, a teacher at Minehead First School.
