The first round of soccer trials to play for an England under 13 side where held at Yeovil Town Football Club on Sunday.
As reported last week, ASDA, Fox Kids and Wagon Wheel have joined forces to help pick one girls' and one boys' side for an international tournament in Spain later this year.
Nearly 50 youngsters turned up to try their luck, knowing that only one boy and one girl would be picked for the next round of trials.
Players were assessed by ex-Torquay keeper Ken Veysey, who was representing the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA).
Mr Veysey said he was impressed by the skills shown, adding that Yeovil had a huge amount of talent from all age ranges.
ASDA events co-ordinator Nicky Forrest said she was delighted by the turnout and would like to thank everybody who helped to make the day such a success.
Evaluations are still being made and the names of the two lucky players were not expected to be released until late this week.
