A SURPRISE visit by the Food Standards Agency has led to Ingrams Meadow extra care scheme in Watchet maintaining its five star status for the fifth year.

The kitchen at the Magna scheme provides up to 60 meals a day, 365 days a year, to vulnerable and elderly people within a ten-mile radius of Watchet.

The service is delivered by volunteers and is open to non Magna residents.

Jane Bliss, Ingrams Meadow extra care scheme manager, said: "This is a fantastic achievement and is just reward for all the kitchen staff and volunteers who provide this invaluable service to many West Somerset residents.

"The award shows that we are committed to providing an exemplary service to some of the most vulnerable residents in the area."
