The weather stayed perfect, children ran races, mountains of scones and teas were consumed, and bargains galore were pounced on at a range of stalls from books and toys to jams, handmade crafts and bric a brac.
Hundreds of yellow plastic ducks were also bought on the day and raced the next day, bobbing along the river and ending up at Holcombe Farm, where teas were served on the lawn, in aid of the fete.
