THE family of a man who died from Motor Neurone Disease followed the route of one of his favourite walks across Exmoor to raise money for a charity dedicated to helping sufferers of the illness.

Dunster woman Faye Cooper was one of the driving forces behind the Exmoor Wanderers Walk in memory of her uncle Julian Graham, who died in July, aged 46.

And she and other family members have raised at least £1,300 by completing a 36-mile hike from Dunster to Barnstaple.

The 27-year-old graphic and web designer was joined by her fiancée Rob Trapnell, her sister Sophie Jordan, brother-in-law John Jordan and cousin Grace Burrell.

Among those also taking part in the challenge were Julian's partner Rosie Boundy and his daughter Ruby Graham.

The walkers completed their fundraising trek over two-days.

"We're really grateful for all the support and sponsorship we received," said Faye. "Donations are still coming in but we wanted people to know that we did make it to the end.

"Our aim was to raise awareness of the disease and its debilitating effects.

"Although it is too late for Julian, we hope the money raised will help research into the disease and support those suffering."
