FAMILIES flocked to Minehead’s Blenheim Gardens on Saturday for a day of fun in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West.
The fifth Party in the Park, organised by the Rotary Club of Minehead and the Quantocks, even had special guest appearances from leading ladies from Disney’s Frozen, Princesses Anna and Elsa.
In honour of the grand occasion, many of the younger partygoers wore their own Frozen outfits and princess fancy dress.
One youngster – local girl Molly Slade – made sure it was a real party by celebrating her first birthday with cupcakes and balloons!

“There were even more people than last year and there was a great atmosphere all day.”
She estimated at least 1000 people dropped in to enjoy the festivities during the course of the day.
As well as a Frozen-themed roundabout, there was a giant slide and bouncy castles, while a mini Wipeout challenge course proved hugely popular.
Stallholders reported a brisk trade, children’s favourite Peppa Pig popped in and the live music attracted huge crowds from midday onwards.
There was a wide range of musical styles to suit all tastes, including guitar instrumentals from Gordon Gear, 60s rock and country from Route 66 and Acoustic Roots and some solo singing from Jade Ely and Remi Toth.
The afternoon entertainment was rounded off with an orchestra and choir from Dunster.
Mrs Paveling said all the musicians had given their time free of charge to raise money for the children’s hospice and thanked sponsors Thorne Segar for their support.
“We will be able to give in excess of £1,000 to the Children’s Hospice South West.
“The charity’s representative Paula Hullet was at the event and was delighted with the response from local people and thanked the Rotary club for their support,” Mrs Paveling said.
