SIR — Following the sickening recent theft and needless destruction of a local autistic man's moped in the Washford area (Free Press September 5), we are delighted to report that, with 'great thanks to the generosity of some members of our local community, the victim is now well and truly 'back on the road'.

A special thank you to those people who so generously acknowledged our appeal to get the young man a moped.

You have enabled one of our less fortunate, well-liked characters of our community to get their life back on track, put a smile back on somebody's face and restored some faith of the victim that not all is bad within our world!
