A BUS service run by volunteers to enable people on Exmoor to go shopping in Dulverton might have to fold for lack of support.

But there is still time for people to save the service which has been run by the Exmoor Community Bus Association for nearly a year.

It operates from Dulverton for people in Hawkridge, Withypool, Exford, Winsford, Brompton Regis, Skilgate on Mondays.

Secretary David Perry said: "It's also a wonderful route for sight-seeing, but the service is so little used that the committee is considering withdrawing it.

"A decision needs to be made before the new May bus timetables and it will depend on an upturn in use."

The regular Thursday service to Minehead via Skilgate, Brompton Regis and Timberscombe, allowing time for lunch and shopping is not affected and will continue.

Both the Monday and Thursday services are staffed by volunteer drivers who are trained by Somerset County Council. New volunteers are always welcome and should contact Mr Perry at 4, Bath Meadow Drive, Dulverton, on 01398 324059.
