A RECORD-breaking show and sale of Devon Closewool sheep was held this week at Blackmoor Gate, on Exmoor.
Exmoor Farmers saw records set on a flying trade with rams when the annual society sale for the Devon Closewool took place on Monday.
Rams went to 1,100 guineas for Mrs Jean Kingdon, purchased by M R Scott & Son, and ewes to 600gns for D & M Elliott, purchased by M & S Vegette.
The top price ram was champion of the show and sale, with the reserve champion ram G A Ley selling at 450gns to Dart Brothers Champson.

In the ewes, champion ewe from D & M Elliott made 420gns purchased by C. Williamson and the reserve champion ewe also D & M Elliott 600gns again purchased by C. Williamson.
