ONCE again Exford’s Village Green was filled with locals and tourists who were out to enjoy this year’s Exford and Simonsbath District Flower and Produce Showa and Fete.

As well as viewing the displays of locally-grown vegetables, flowers, home produce and crafts people were entertained at the fete with its many competitions and stalls. Children’s races added to the fun.

Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen opened this year’s event and presented the winners with their silverware.

He told telling stories of the fete’s history and of how he realised that, although his family had long been living in the area, they actually moved here 21 years after the first show in Exford in 1907.

The show committee would like to thank everyone who helped with the event, including the team who erected the marquees, the stall holders and all the villagers and their families who spent so much time and effort growing, cooking, arranging and crafting their entries.
