A Plastic Free Community group in West Somerset and Exmoor are holding community beach cleans over the next few weekends.

Over the weekends of 17th - 18th and 24th - 25th September, the Plastic Free Community Groups of Minehead, Watchet and Exmoor will be holding three community beach cleans and they would welcome as many people as possible to come along and help.

The dates and venues for the beach cleans are as follows:

Saturday September 17th: Dunster from 2pm to 4pm (Meet at Dunster Beach Car Park by the entrance to Dunster Beach Holidays)

Saturday September 24th: Minehead from 10am to 12noon (Meet outside the Beach Hotel, Minehead TA24 5AP)

Sunday September 25th: Watchet from 2pm to 4pm (Meet at the Slipway, West Street Beach TA23 OBQ)


Litter pickers and sacks will be provided. Anyone attending will need to bring their own gloves and sanitiser.

The beach cleans are part of the Marine Conservation Society’s annual Great British Beach Clean and the Severn Estuary Big Beach Clean and are being run with the support of Litter Free Coast and Sea – Somerset, The Beach Hotel in Minehead and Dunster Beach Holidays.
