THE National Trust is offering half-term holiday fun for families this week in its Lorna Doone Valley, on Exmoor.
On bank holiday Monday (May 25), children are invited to join rangers in a forest school for a day of fun and building confidence in the outdoors while learning new skills.
Two sessions are being run, from 10 am to 12 noon, and from 1 pm to 3 pm.
A spokesperson said: “The forest school and wild play area at Lorna Doone Valley is the perfect venue for wild art, bug hunts, woodland games, fire making, den building, and all sorts of other wild adventures.”
The private forest school space is hired out exclusively for the use of schools and community groups and includes access to a wild play area and garden allowing children to experience the wild within a safe and secluded space.
The sessions are priced at £2 per child and places need to be booked in advance.
A family fun day is being organised on Wednesday (May 27) from 11 am to 3 pm with activities ranging from creative crafts to nature discoveries.
People can try their hand at lawn games, get creative, and explore the wild play area which has climbing frames, tunnels, and games.
The event is free and booking is not required.
