THE car park of Tropiquaria Zoo, at Washford Cross, was taken over by a television film production crew.

Cardiff-based Bad Wolf Productions had started filming on location a few miles from Washford but did not have enough room on site for its behind-the-scenes crew.

Tropiquaria director Chris Moiser said: “Put simply, the location could not manage toilets, cafe, make-up, wardrobe, etc, and needed somewhere nearby.

“As there were going to be 13 large caravans and somewhere near 100 cars and vans they needed a bit of space, and we fitted the bill.”

“We looked at our attendances for this day in previous years and reckoned that we could fit them in without inconveniencing our visitors too much. So, we said ‘yes’.”

Mr Moiser said the production company’s security staff also helped to ensure all Tropiquaria visitors on the day were able to get in safely.

Locations in West Somerset are being used by Bad Wolf for a 10-part television series adaptation of author Bernard Cornwell’s ‘Warlord Chronicles’ trilogy about ‘King Arthur’.
