THE Taunton Area Committee of Somerset CCC summer barbecue, which took place at ‘Howzat,’ Fitzhead, last Friday evening was a huge success - and raised about £3,000.
The event, hosted by Mary Elworthy-Coggan, the Taunton Area secretary, was attended by a number of the Somerset players and officials including Gordon Hollins, the club’s chief executive.
England bowling legend Andy Caddick once again was in charge of the cheffing, making this his 25th year in charge of the annual event.
In addition to the barbecuee, there was a raffle and an auction.
The area secretary said: “It was another great night and so good to see so many of the players along with the chief executive coming along to join with us.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped in any way to make the evening such a success, but in particular Lee Cooper, of Cooper Associates, Alex Dunn Racing, Taunton Racecourse and Paddy Groves from Woods Café in Dulverton who all donated items for the auction.”
Right: Andy Caddick - 25 not out!
