A BROKEN light on a former BBC transmitting mast behind Tropiquaria Zoo, near Watchet, looks set to be repaired after a two-year campaign by former district councillor Stuart Dowding.
Mr Dowding, of Bicknoller, said the site’s two 500-feet tall masts could be a hazard for low flying aircraft.
A spokesperson for owner Arqiva said: “We have an engineer booked to investigate in the coming days.
“Sites such as this are clearly marked on flight maps as obstacles, so pilots should be aware and avoid flying in the vicinity.
“Each of the masts has a pair of lights at three different levels, 50 metres, 100, and 150.
“If any single light is out, the other should be visible as well as the other 11 lights on both masts.”
