INTERNATIONAL singing superstar Kalpee visited Minehead Middle School on his wellbeing tour of the UK last week.

Kalpee, born in Trinidad and Tobago, has had top ten singles in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. He is spreading a message of positivity and discussing topics such as mental health and wellbeing.

Each of Kalpee’s songs tied in with stories of his personal experiences and allowed the children time to reflect upon his message of the importance of loving yourself for who you are.

Executive head teacher Adam Evans said: “As a school within the West Somerset Opportunity Area, visits like these are vital to allow the children to broaden their horizons through exposure to new experiences and cultures.”

The event was organised by the school’s student welfare manager David Butler.
