WALKING on Mars, stargazing, designing landing gear and flying through the solar system in a planetarium were just a few of the mind-blowing activities on offer at Dulverton Junior School.

They were all part of the first ‘Astro Evening’ organised by the Exmoor Primary Science Partnership.

Sixty pupils from Exford, Dulverton Juniors, Cutcombe, Milverton , Wiveliscombe Primary, East Anstey and Bishops Nympton Primary schools went out of this world at the event.

It was supported by the Ogden Trust, a charity which promotes teaching and learning physics.

Hands-on workshops and talks were given on the theme of space exploration.
