WEST Somerset College was yesterday (Thursday) celebrating its best A level results for more than five years.

Ten per cent of the results were graded at A* and half of all results were A* to B grades.

And the total pass mark of 99 per cent of all exams hasn’t been seen at the college since 2012.

Peter Elliott, CEO of the Bridgwater College Trust, said: “These results clearly demonstrate the hard work and efforts of the students and staff over the past two years.

“They are a fantastic achievement both for the college and for the individuals who have now gained the qualifications they need to move on to university or employment.”

There were many individual successes with students gaining places at universities across the country.

Notable successes included Mia Smith (AAA), Chloe Puttock (A*AB), Angharad Parry (A*AB), Dylan Foster (AAB), Shannon Collings (AAB) and Sophie Aspey (AAB).
