The circus came to visit St Michael’s First School in Minehead on May 21 and 22, giving the chance to watch a circus performance and also learn how to develop specific circus skills.

“The children were absolutely thrilled and engaged during the two days,” said a school spokesman. “It gave them the opportunity to develop unexplored talents, such as plate spinning or balancing feathers on their fingertip.
“It also allowed them to hone skills such as instruction following and performing in front of an audience.
“Most importantly, it was fun and enabled the children to glow with pride, self-esteem and self-confidence.”
